Volunteering Empowers - our collection of tips is now available

Dátum:
2026.február 3.
This tip collection, based on the joint experience of the Talentum Foundation and the Archdiocesan Office for Family Ministry of Alba Iulia, offers practical ideas for civil organizations and institutions on how to host volunteers with fewer opportunities and volunteers participating as family members in an inclusive and flexible way.

The publication was produced as a result of a project supported by the Erasmus+ program, which was implemented by the two organizations between 2024 and 2026. Based on the experiences, learning opportunities, and professional dialogues gained during the joint work, a collection of tips was created that is specifically related to the everyday practice of organizations hosting volunteers.

The aim of the publication is to support the conscious planning of volunteer hosting, with a particular focus on volunteers who, due to their life situation, require more support, a more flexible framework, or more personal attention. The publication does not offer ready-made solutions, but encourages reflection and explores issues and situations that often arise during cooperation.

Following the process of volunteer hosting, it focuses on the following areas:

• advance planning of volunteer engagement

• preparation for the arrival and involvement of volunteers

• handling challenges that arise during program implementation

• shaping inclusion as a conscious and well-considered process

• creating a safe environment for all participants

The collection of tips offers guidance to organizations already working with volunteers on how to improve their practices and also provides help to those planning to launch volunteer programs, with a particular focus on involving volunteers with fewer opportunities and those with family commitments.
