Draw a Card for Volunteering!
2022-1-HU01-KA210-YOU-000081331
2022.09.01. – 2024.04.30.
The main objective of the project is to inspire, raise awareness among, and engage young people aged 14 and above in volunteering and active civic participation through the method of gamification. Within the framework of the project, a cooperative board game and a methodological guideline for youth workers will be developed. The game, designed for young people aged 14 and above, is an innovative tool tailored to the needs of young audiences. Its aim is to increase young people’s interest in and willingness to engage in volunteering. The product supports social participation and the development of civic competences, and will be available in both Hungarian and English.
Our partner organisation is Caritas Alba Iulia. The two organisations have maintained cooperation for several years, having jointly participated in numerous projects and continuously supporting each other’s work through professional knowledge exchange.
The board game and methodological guideline developed within the project will not only support the promotional activities of the two organisations, but will also be made freely accessible online to any interested party.
Activities implemented during the project:
- 5 online professional meetings (kick-off, evaluation and partnership meetings)
- 3 in-person professional workshops during the design, testing and finalisation phases of the game
- Local activities: research and collection of materials, testing, questionnaire-based survey
- Development of the board game concept, structure and professional content, including design, ergonomics, editing and printing processes
- Preparation of the methodological guideline
- Translation into English
- Multiplication activities (offline and online): dissemination of results and collection of feedback
The partner organisations’ multipliers will receive a practical tool and methodological guideline to promote volunteering, supporting a gamification-based pedagogical approach.
The printed version of the board game will directly reach young people engaged by the organisations and their partners, strengthening their social participation and developing their civic competences through a deeper understanding of volunteering.
The English-language online version will be accessible on the web, opening new opportunities to motivate international audiences towards volunteering.
The project results are available in both Hungarian and English.
The implementation of the project and the completed board game were recognised with a Quality Award by the Tempus Public Foundation in 2025.
The project was implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme and funded by the European Union.
