Szeged through a lens of nostalgia

The Talentum Foundation maintains a close and well-established partnership with the residents and staff of both buildings of the Kálvária Residential Care Home. On numerous occasions, we organise a wide range of themed programmes with the support of volunteers.

As part of the present programme, we delivered a city excursion that had long been eagerly anticipated by the residents. It has been a long-standing wish of those living in the home to take an extended stroll around the city, recalling memories of their youth and childhood. Due to mobility difficulties, this is no longer possible for many of them; however, the Szeged sightseeing road train provided a highly comfortable and enjoyable alternative.

The excursion was carried out with the involvement of secondary school students (Szegedi SZC Kőrösy József Közgazdasági Technikum), which brought additional joy and meaningful experiences to both the older residents and the young participants. During the trip, memories were revived, the residents shared stories about old Szeged, and amusing local anecdotes were recounted.

The road train journey took place on 25 September 2025 and even included a short break at a local patisserie.
